The Big Match Up with Cy Young Possibles

HtSSN-A big match up between Boise and Nashville saw Timo Redman vs Kenny Walters, two of the best pitchers in the league. And, as billed, turned into a pitching duel between the two. Redman went 6 innings giving up 2 runs, 6 hits, 2 walks, 6 strike outs and giving up solo homer. Walters macthed that feat by going 7 innings giving up 2 runs, 6 hits, 1 walk, 4 strike outs and giving up a solo homer also. The fans were excited because they knew the game was going to a long pitchers duel and they were not disappointed. Lasting till the 10th inning when Boise players became unglued and made mistakes against their hated rival. Loading the bases on two errors and an infield hit with a close play, albeit questionable call, at third, then a pitching lapse high-lighted by Mitch Walcutt's 3 run blast sent disappointed fans to the exits.

With another season moving out of the "Dog Days" and into the "Race Days", it will be interesting in the AL as to whom will when the Cy Young. With Redman and Walters already in the hunt for the coveted award, Carlton Bryne and Rafael Viriato may have something to say about that.
Viriato is currently 16-0 in 25 starts and is third in the ERA department and second in WHIP. Bryne is currently 17-3 in 23 starts, but you have to remember that his home park is the "Juice Box".

In the NL it looks like it could boil down to David Lee, who has a record of 17-4 in 26 starts, or Mark Trammell, who has a record of 15-6 in 25 starts. The season still has 40 games to go, so someone else could easily sneak into the hunt.
